sadie ya’ara bat kalman (1997, new york, usa) is a levantine interdisciplinary artist, writer, and researcher based on tohono o’odham land in arizona.

she uses a variety of visual and literary methods to explore precarious things like bodily fragility, disability, homoeroticism, queer histories, narrative violence, and religion.

my cat’s neck is too long for her body and sometimes it floats off her head, escaping through the ceiling, and is found later as an stone oracle resting on a hillside... and if i’ve learned anything from my cat’s predicament it’s that we all end up with arthritis someday so studio artists might as well get an early start, retire at 73 in montevideo, uruguay, and pick up questionable habits like smoking cinnamon sticks.
